Pam Chater: May Brown Lecturer 2016

IMG_0423Pam Chater started her love of camping in Ontario when she was nine years old by attending Camp Tawingo near Huntsville, Ontario. Pam also worked a couple of summers at Tawingo when she was a teenager, and a couple summers at Y-Ma-Wa-Ka Day camp in London, Ontario, before she had to leave camping and focus on her high school and competitive sports career.

Pam camping career really took off when she moved to British Columbia to attend university. She worked for Camp Potlatch for six years as the registrar, program director and, finally, Assistant Director. Then in 2009, Pam was given a great opportunity to become the director at YMCA Camp Howdy. Pam has worked for the YMCA for the past seven years. She presently works as the Manager at YMCA Camp Elphinstone.

Pam has also been involved and taken on a few different roles within the BC Camping Association board and has been involved in the Canadian Camping Association board for the last few years.
